About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides soft, overcast outdoor lighting for architectural visualizations in any renderer. The environment map captures a wide, open grassy park area under a flat, diffuse overcast sky. The horizon features distant civic architecture, including the Reichstag building, set against a backdrop of mature trees with subtle autumnal tones. The lighting is characterized by low contrast and soft, shadowless illumination, making it ideal for scenes requiring neutral, natural daylight. The composition is balanced, with the expansive lawn occupying the foreground and the urban landmark providing a distinct, recognizable silhouette in the mid-ground, ensuring a realistic sense of scale and depth for exterior site renders.

The download is a 6.1 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this.hdr file directly into the environment or background slot of your rendering engine. Because it is a high-dynamic-range image, it will provide realistic 360-degree illumination and reflections without needing additional light sources. Adjust the exposure and rotation parameters within your software to align the background architecture and light direction with your model. For best results, use this map in conjunction with a shadow catcher plane to ground your 3D objects accurately within the virtual park environment.

This asset is suited for exterior visualizations of urban residential or civic projects where a neutral, overcast daylight setting is required. It pairs well with modern building designs that feature glass or metallic facades, as the soft lighting produces subtle, realistic reflections. Professional visualisers often search for this type of environment when creating site-context renders, masterplan presentations, or urban design studies. It is particularly effective for projects located in European city centres or large public park settings during the planning and concept development stages.
