About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic dusk lighting and a panoramic backdrop for outdoor 3D visualizations. The environment map captures a soft, low-contrast dusk scene set on a grassy, rocky hilltop overlooking a distant lake. The sky features a muted, partly cloudy atmosphere with a subtle sunset glow, providing a natural, ambient light source for architectural renders. The foreground displays textured dry grasses and weathered stone outcrops, offering a realistic base for ground-level perspective shots. The lighting profile is diffuse and cool, suited for late-day exterior scenes where soft shadows and balanced, natural exposure are required to integrate 3D geometry into a photographic environment.

The download is a 5.6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this.hdr file directly into the environment slot of your preferred rendering engine. Because it is an equirectangular projection, it will map seamlessly around your scene. Adjust the exposure and rotation to align the sun position with your key light source. For optimal realism, use the map for both primary image-based lighting and as a visible background, ensuring that the camera focal length matches the panoramic perspective of the environment to avoid distortion at the horizon line.

This asset is ideal for exterior landscape visualizations, residential site planning, and hospitality project renders that require a serene, natural setting. It pairs effectively with projects featuring rustic, brutalist, or vernacular architecture where the surrounding environment is key to the overall narrative. Professionals searching for natural dusk lighting, hilltop landscapes, or atmospheric background plates will find this map useful for setting the mood in late-afternoon or evening exterior scenes, particularly when rendering wide-angle site views or elevated landscape perspectives.
