Qwantani Afternoon Clear Sky HDRI Environment Map

Qwantani Afternoon is a high-dynamic-range environment map providing clear, natural afternoon lighting for 3D architectural renders. This HDRI environment map captures a crisp, unclouded afternoon sky, characterised by a bright, high-contrast sun positioned in a clear blue expanse. The horizon features a soft, subtle atmospheric haze, which assists in grounding architectural models within a realistic, expansive setting. The lighting profile delivers clean, directional sunlight and consistent blue-tinted ambient illumination, ideal for achieving accurate natural shadows and highlights on exterior and interior surfaces. The equirectangular projection ensures seamless 360-degree coverage, providing a stable, high-quality lighting foundation for complex scenes requiring a bright, daylight aesthetic.

The download is a 4 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilise this asset, load the.hdr file into the environment or world lighting slot of your preferred rendering engine. Adjust the exposure and rotation parameters to align the sun's position with your architectural focal points. Because this map provides both direct light and ambient fill, it is effective as a primary light source. In software like V-Ray, Corona, or Octane, ensure the gamma settings match your project workflow to maintain the intended colour balance and contrast levels.

This environment map is well-suited for exterior architectural visualisations, landscape design, and hospitality projects where a clean, daytime mood is required. It pairs effectively with modern glass-clad buildings or open-plan residential designs, where the clear blue sky can reflect naturally on facades and interior glazing. Use this asset during the conceptual or final rendering stages to establish a bright, optimistic light quality. Professionals often search for this type of file when needing a straightforward, high-contrast sky for consistent daylight illumination.
