About this asset

Pretville Street is a 2K equirectangular HDRI environment map featuring a sunlit, mid-century retro film set with long shadows. The environment map captures a distinct 1950s-style street scene, characterised by brightly painted commercial frontages and period-appropriate vehicles. The composition includes a central asphalt thoroughfare flanked by pastel-coloured buildings, including a prominent pink facade with classical columns and decorative bunting strung overhead. The lighting is defined by a clear, bright sky and warm, directional sunlight that creates high-contrast shadows across the ground plane. The overall aesthetic is evocative of a film-set backlot, offering a cohesive, nostalgic urban atmosphere suitable for exterior scene backdrops and realistic image-based lighting setups.

The download is a 5.8 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

This HDRI file is designed for seamless integration into the world lighting slot of standard rendering engines. Professionals can load the.hdr file to establish immediate global illumination, reflections, and ambient light values based on the captured scene. It provides a reliable base for aligning virtual camera angles with the street perspective, while the high dynamic range ensures accurate light falloff and contrast levels when adjusting exposure settings within the chosen software environment.

This asset is ideal for exterior visualisations requiring a nostalgic or retro urban backdrop. It serves as an effective environment for automotive renderings, architectural concept shots, or hospitality projects aiming for a themed, mid-century aesthetic. Designers working on film-set recreations, commercial streetscape studies, or thematic residential developments will find the specific lighting profile useful for maintaining consistent shadow direction and colour temperature. It pairs well with period-specific furniture and vintage vehicle assets to enhance the narrative quality of architectural renderings.
