About this asset

Plac Wolnosci is a 2K equirectangular HDRI environment map featuring an overcast urban square for realistic architectural rendering. This HDRI captures a wide, open urban plaza, providing a neutral and diffused lighting environment. The scene is dominated by grey stone paving tiles arranged in a grid pattern, leading toward a prominent, dark-toned contemporary building with a large glazed central atrium. Glass pavilion structures are positioned within the square, adding depth and reflective surfaces to the environment. The sky is uniformly overcast, resulting in soft, low-contrast illumination that is ideal for architectural visualisation where clear, sharp shadows are not required. The perspective is ground-level, offering a realistic eye-level view of an open city space.

The download is a 6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the.hdr file into your rendering engine's environment or world background slot. Because the image provides high dynamic range data, it will serve as both the primary light source and the background reflection map. Adjust the intensity and rotation to align with your model's orientation. For best results, use it in conjunction with a backplate if you need a specific camera angle, or rely on its spherical coverage for 360-degree reflections on materials like glass and polished metal.

This asset is suited for exterior architectural renders that require a realistic, overcast city setting without harsh lighting conditions. It integrates well into projects involving urban planning, commercial developments, or public space design. Professionals often search for this type of environment when they need to showcase building exteriors in a balanced, naturalistic way, or when they require a generic city square background for high-end digital composites. It pairs effectively with modern glass-and-steel structures, providing accurate reflections that ground the building within a believable urban context.
