About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic midday lighting for 3D scenes, featuring a clear sky over a field. The environment map captures a high-contrast natural lighting scenario at midday. The scene depicts a landscape with scorched earth and burnt winter grass, framed by bare, skeletal trees reaching into a bright, clear blue sky. The lighting profile is defined by a harsh, direct sun position, characteristic of a cloudless day, which generates sharp shadows and intense highlights. This 360-degree panoramic capture ensures consistent illumination across the entire horizon, effectively simulating an open, rural environment during the middle of the day. The textures of the terrain are dark and earthy, contrasting with the expansive sky.

The download is a 6.6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this environment map, load the.hdr file into the background or environment lighting slot of your preferred 3D rendering engine. Ensure the mapping is set to equirectangular or spherical projection to maintain correct orientation. Adjust the exposure or intensity values to match the brightness of your scene's primary light sources. Because this is a high-dynamic-range file, it will provide natural light contribution and realistic reflections on metallic or glossy materials within your architectural or landscape visualizations.

This HDRI is suited for outdoor architectural renderings, landscape design projects, and environmental studies where a stark, naturalistic, or post-fire setting is required. It works effectively for daylight exterior visualizations, particularly for rural or agricultural building typologies. Professionals can use this to establish a harsh, high-noon lighting mood for site analysis or conceptual renders. It pairs well with barren landscaping assets and weathered structural materials, offering a distinct, high-contrast atmosphere that emphasizes the geometry of outdoor buildings and site elements.
