About this asset

Kloppenheim 2 is a high-contrast night sky HDRI map featuring a clear starry landscape, delivered in a 2K equirectangular format. This HDRI environment map provides a realistic nighttime lighting setup, capturing a vast, open grassy plain under a clear, dark sky. The scene is dominated by a bright lunar glow that casts cool, natural moonlight across the horizon, complemented by a dense field of stars and subtle galactic detail. On the distant horizon, soft ambient light from a settlement creates a warm contrast against the deep blue and black tones of the night sky. The image offers a full 360-degree view, ensuring consistent, high-quality lighting for exterior architectural visualisations.

The download is a 6.6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Professional users can load this.hdr file directly into the environment or world lighting slot of any major rendering engine. Because it is an equirectangular panorama, the map automatically wraps around the scene, providing accurate reflection and ambient lighting based on the captured moon and star positions. Users should adjust the exposure or intensity settings within their software to match the desired night-time mood, ensuring that the cool moonlight correctly highlights building facades and landscape elements within the 3D environment.

This environment map is ideal for exterior architectural renders that require a serene, natural nocturnal setting. It works effectively for residential projects, rural hospitality developments, or landscape architecture proposals where the focus is on outdoor lighting and night-time atmosphere. Architects and visualisers often search for high-quality night HDRIs to enhance the realism of building exteriors, pairing this map with warm interior glow from windows to create a balanced, inviting nocturnal scene that emphasises both the architecture and the surrounding natural site.
