About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides a clear midday sky and high-contrast natural lighting for outdoor 3D scenes. The environment map captures a wide-angle, 360-degree panoramic view of a rocky, grassy hilltop under a bright, clear sky. The lighting profile is defined by a strong, direct sun position, creating sharp shadows and high-contrast illumination suitable for realistic exterior renders. The foreground features scattered natural stone outcrops and low-lying shrubs, while the horizon fades into a subtle atmospheric haze, typical of a dry, open landscape. This file provides a full-sphere, unclipped range of light values, ensuring accurate reflections and ambient occlusion across complex 3D geometry in any rendering engine.

The download is a 5.9 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this map, load the.hdr file into the environment or world lighting slot of your rendering software. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source for consistent shadows. Because this is a high-dynamic-range file, ensure your exposure settings are calibrated to capture the full intensity of the sun without blowing out the highlights, or use a background override if you require a different backdrop for the final composition.

This asset is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, landscape design projects, and automotive renders where a natural, open-air setting is required. It pairs effectively with scenes involving rugged terrain, rural residential architecture, or large-scale site masterplans. Professionals searching for 'natural sun lighting,' 'panoramic site backdrops,' or 'high-contrast HDRIs' will find this file highly versatile for daylight lighting scenarios. It is particularly useful during the concept and design development stages when establishing the environmental context and atmospheric quality of an outdoor space.
