About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic morning lighting for 3D scenes, featuring a sunny mountain valley. The environment map captures a panoramic view of a rugged, arid mountain landscape under a clear morning sky. The foreground consists of rocky, textured ground with sparse native vegetation, transitioning into rolling hills and distant mountain ranges. The lighting is characterized by a bright, high-positioned sun that casts soft yet distinct shadows, creating a natural, high-contrast illumination profile suitable for outdoor renders. The colour palette is dominated by earthy browns, dusty tans, and a clear, expansive blue sky, providing a neutral and versatile backdrop for architectural or landscape visualization projects.

The download is a 6.4 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilize this file, load the.hdr equirectangular map into the environment or world lighting slot of your rendering engine. Ensure the mapping type is set to spherical or environment to maintain correct projection. Because the map contains high dynamic range data, it will automatically drive the scene's primary light source, shadows, and reflections. Adjust the rotation parameter to align the sun position with your desired camera view, and use the exposure multiplier to balance the intensity of the light against your scene geometry.

This HDRI is ideal for exterior architectural visualizations, site-specific landscape design presentations, and automotive rendering where a natural, open-air environment is required. It pairs effectively with projects set in rural, semi-arid, or mountainous locations. Professionals searching for 'mountain environment map', 'morning sky HDRI', or 'natural landscape lighting' will find this asset useful for establishing a consistent, realistic atmosphere. It is particularly effective for early-stage conceptual renders where a sense of place and authentic daylighting are necessary to communicate the design intent to stakeholders.
