About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic sunrise lighting and reflections for arid, wide-open outdoor scenes. Captured in an arid, rural setting, this environment map features a cracked asphalt road stretching toward distant, sun-drenched hills. The scene is defined by a low-angle sunrise, creating long, soft shadows and a warm, golden-hued light palette across the terrain. Sparse, hardy desert vegetation and dry scrub brush populate the surrounding landscape, providing natural texture and depth. The sky is predominantly clear with subtle, wispy clouds, allowing for high-contrast, directional light that is ideal for grounding 3D objects within a believable, expansive outdoor environment.

The download is a 6.3 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this 2K HDR file into your rendering engine's environment or world lighting slot to establish realistic global illumination and background reflections. Because the map contains high-dynamic-range data, it effectively drives physically based lighting systems, allowing for precise control over exposure and shadow softness. Users can rotate the map to align the sun position with their scene geometry, ensuring that highlights and shadows on rendered assets remain consistent with the background plate's natural light source.

This environment map is suited for exterior architectural visualisations, automotive renders, or landscape design projects requiring a remote, desert-like backdrop. It pairs well with off-road vehicle models, rural infrastructure, or minimalist architectural structures set in vast, natural environments. Professionals looking to achieve a cinematic golden hour aesthetic will find this asset useful for creating atmospheric, high-contrast exterior shots. It is particularly effective for projects where the focus is on natural light quality and wide-angle environmental context in rural or wilderness settings.
