About this asset

This 2K high-dynamic-range environment map provides realistic sunset lighting and reflections for architectural rendering projects. This HDRI environment map features a soft, evening sky with a low-hanging sun and scattered cloud formations. The colour palette transitions from a warm, golden horizon glow to cooler, grey-blue tones in the upper atmosphere. The map is designed to provide consistent, natural-looking illumination for 3D scenes, ensuring that light sources and reflections are physically accurate. It captures a wide range of luminance values, allowing for subtle highlights and deep shadows in architectural visualizations. The inclusion of test spheres in the preview demonstrates how the map interacts with reflective, matte, and glossy materials.

The download is a 6.1 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this map, load the file into the environment slot of your preferred 3D rendering engine. It functions as a complete light source, eliminating the need for additional artificial light rigs in many scenarios. Ensure your software is set to use the map for both background visibility and global illumination to achieve correct light bounce and reflection intensity. You can rotate the map within the environment settings to align the sun position with your specific camera angle and desired shadow orientation.

This environment map is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, sunset scenes, and hospitality interior renders where a warm, atmospheric mood is required. It pairs effectively with projects featuring glass facades, water elements, or polished surfaces that benefit from realistic sky reflections. Professionals can use this asset during the concept development or final presentation stages to establish a specific time of day and lighting mood without complex manual light setups. It is a reliable tool for achieving cinematic, high-quality lighting in residential, commercial, or landscape design projects.
