About this asset

This 2K HDRI environment map provides realistic sunset lighting and reflections for 3D scenes, featuring a rural field landscape. Captured at sunset, this high-dynamic-range environment map depicts an expansive rural landscape under a soft, overcast evening sky. The lighting profile is characterized by low-angle, diffused illumination with a subtle warm glow near the horizon, balanced against cool, muted cloud tones. The 360-degree capture ensures consistent, physically accurate reflections when applied to metallic or glossy surfaces. Included test spheres demonstrate the light's natural falloff, soft shadow intensity, and ambient occlusion qualities, providing a neutral and versatile base for exterior architectural visualization projects that require a calm, atmospheric dusk setting.

The download is a 9.3 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To implement this HDRI, load the file into your renderer's environment or dome light slot. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source for accurate shadow casting. Because this map contains high-dynamic-range data, it functions as the sole light source, eliminating the need for additional artificial rigs. Ensure your project's exposure settings are configured to accommodate the map's luminance range to maintain the integrity of the highlights and deep shadows.

This environment map is ideal for exterior residential or landscape visualization where a tranquil, late-day aesthetic is desired. It pairs effectively with modern rural architecture, timber-clad structures, or open parkland scenes. Professionals seeking to achieve realistic natural illumination in 3D renders will find this asset useful for establishing mood without complex lighting setups. It is frequently applied during the final rendering stages to ground architectural projects within a believable, atmospheric context, replacing the need for manual sky-dome configuration.
