About this asset

This 2K HDRI environment map captures a serene rural sunset, providing high-dynamic-range illumination for architectural renders. This 360-degree environment map features a expansive, open field landscape at dusk. The sky transitions from a deep, cool blue at the zenith to soft, warm pinks and oranges near the horizon where the sun has dipped low. The terrain is flat and agricultural, offering a neutral, non-distracting background for exterior architectural visualisations. The lighting profile is diffuse and soft, characteristic of the golden hour, which helps to ground 3D objects naturally within a scene while providing realistic, non-directional ambient light that avoids harsh, artificial-looking shadows in your final composition.

The download is an 8.6 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Integration of this 2K map into your renderer is straightforward. Simply load the file into your environment or world lighting slot to establish global illumination and high-fidelity reflections. Because the light and reflections are captured from a single source, your materials will react consistently with the background. For optimal results, ensure your project's exposure settings are adjusted to account for the lower light intensity typical of a sunset scene, allowing the subtle colour gradients to influence your material shaders accurately.

Ideal for residential exterior projects or landscape design visualisations where a calm, natural setting is required. This map works well with projects that demand a sense of quietude, such as rural dwellings or outdoor living spaces. Professional visualisers can use this to quickly establish a consistent mood without complex lighting rigs. It pairs effectively with natural timber, concrete, or stone facade materials, enhancing the realistic interplay of light and shadow during the transition from day to night in your architectural portfolio.
