About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides soft, natural overcast autumn lighting for architectural visualisation scenes. The environment captures a tranquil moat landscape during an overcast autumn day. The scene features a grassy bank scattered with fallen leaves, leading toward a calm pond reflecting the muted sky. Mature deciduous trees with autumnal foliage line the background, creating a soft, diffuse light profile ideal for realistic outdoor rendering. The composition includes a distant fountain, adding a subtle vertical element to the horizon. This high-dynamic-range image maintains a consistent, low-contrast illumination across the entire 360-degree field, ensuring natural shadow diffusion for any 3D models placed within the virtual space.

The download is a 6.4 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this.hdr file into the environment or world lighting slot of your rendering engine. Because it is an equirectangular projection, it will map seamlessly onto the background sphere. Adjust the exposure and rotation parameters to align the soft, diffuse daylight with the sun position of your scene. This map is particularly effective for achieving realistic ambient occlusion and soft contact shadows without the harshness of direct sunlight, providing a balanced base for further light balancing.

This environment is well-suited for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly those requiring a calm, temperate European park setting. It pairs effectively with residential projects or landscape design proposals where a natural, autumnal atmosphere is desired. Professionals searching for natural lighting, overcast sky maps, or park-based background plates will find this asset useful for site-specific renderings. It is suitable for projects at the concept or final presentation stage, providing a ready-to-use backdrop that integrates easily with vegetation and water-based scene elements.
