Day Sky HDRI 031 B

Day Sky HDRI 031 B is a 2K high-dynamic-range environment map providing realistic daylight illumination for 3D rendering projects. This environment map captures a bright, partly cloudy daytime sky with soft, diffused light and a visible sun position. The image features a balanced dynamic range, ensuring consistent light distribution across 3D scenes. It includes a neutral horizon, which prevents unwanted colour casting while maintaining natural sky gradients. The file is calibrated to provide accurate reflections and highlights when used with reflective materials, such as polished metals or glass. By providing a natural light source, it eliminates the need for complex multi-point lighting rigs, allowing for faster setup and more authentic environmental integration.

The download is a 6 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into the environment or background slot of your preferred 3D rendering engine. Ensure the mapping is set to spherical or environment mode to correctly project the 360-degree data. Adjust the intensity and rotation settings within the software to align the sun position with your scene's architectural geometry. When working with high-dynamic-range files, verify that the exposure settings are tuned to capture the full range of light, from the bright sky to the subtle shadows.

This environment map is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, product renders, and interior scenes requiring realistic window light. It provides a versatile daylight setting that works well for residential, hospitality, and office projects during the conceptual or final rendering stages. Designers looking for a natural, overcast-to-clear sky aesthetic will find this asset useful for creating balanced, soft-shadowed lighting. It pairs effectively with neutral materials, helping to define form and texture in architectural models without overwhelming the scene with intense, high-contrast light sources.
