About this asset

This 2K HDRI environment map provides realistic daylight illumination and reflections for architectural visualization projects. Captured at 2K resolution, this HDRI environment map features a partly cloudy daytime sky. The lighting profile is diffuse yet bright, typical of a midday sky with scattered cloud cover. It includes a full spherical range, ensuring that both direct light and ambient reflections are captured with high fidelity. The map provides consistent, natural illumination that integrates seamlessly with architectural scenes, offering a neutral colour temperature that avoids heavy colour casts. Included test spheres demonstrate the map's performance on reflective, matte, and coloured surfaces, confirming its accuracy for various material types.

The download is a 5.6 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into the environment or world background slot of your chosen rendering engine. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source. Because the map contains high dynamic range data, ensure your exposure settings are calibrated to capture the full range of brightness. It works effectively as a standalone light source or in combination with artificial lights for interior or exterior architectural renders.

This environment map is suitable for a wide range of architectural projects, from residential interiors to large-scale hospitality or office exteriors. It is particularly effective for daylight scenes where a natural, soft-cloud look is required to enhance material realism. Professionals use this asset to achieve quick, high-quality lighting setups without the need for complex three-point light rigs. It pairs well with modern, minimalist, and contemporary design styles, providing a clean, professional look for client presentations, marketing imagery, and technical architectural visualizations.
