About this asset

This Japanese-style light wood shelving unit for 3ds Max features a modular grid design with integrated slatted base cabinets. Constructed from a light-toned timber, this expansive wall-mounted shelving unit offers a structured grid of open display compartments. The design incorporates a symmetrical arrangement with two narrower side sections flanking a wider central section. The lower portion of the unit is enclosed by a series of vertical slatted doors, providing concealed storage that contrasts with the open shelving above. The piece comes fully populated with a curated selection of decorative objects, including ceramic vases, stacked books, and small sculptural items, creating a balanced and ready-to-use composition for interior visualisations.

The download is a 15.3 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this model is organised with logical layer structures to allow for easy management of the shelving frame and the included decorative accessories. Users can easily adjust the scale to fit specific wall dimensions or detach individual prop elements if a less cluttered look is required. Applying high-quality wood grain textures to the primary surfaces will enhance the natural aesthetic. The model is designed to be placed against a wall, making it ideal for creating focal points in architectural scenes.

This storage unit is well-suited for high-end residential interiors, including living rooms, home offices, and libraries, where a calm, organised aesthetic is desired. It complements minimalist or Japandi-style design schemes, pairing effectively with low-profile furniture and neutral colour palettes. Professionals seeking to add depth and personality to a space will find this asset useful for staging sophisticated, lived-in environments. It is frequently searched for as a focal wall storage solution, custom joinery, or feature shelving for luxury apartments and corporate reception areas.
