About this asset

This 2K high-dynamic-range environment map provides realistic daylight illumination for rendering, featuring a serene lakeside setting. Captured at a lakeside location, this 2K resolution HDRI environment map offers a balanced, natural daylight condition suitable for exterior architectural visualisation. The spherical projection includes high-dynamic-range data, ensuring accurate light intensity, shadows, and reflections for any 3D asset placed within the scene. The image captures a clear, bright sky with natural foliage and coastal textures, providing a realistic background and light source. The inclusion of reference spheres in the capture ensures that light properties, surface reflections, and ambient occlusion are accurately represented in the final render.

The download is a 10.8 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this asset, load the file into the environment or world lighting slot of your preferred rendering engine. Adjust the rotation to align the light source with your site plan or desired shadow direction. Since the map contains high-dynamic-range data, you can adjust the exposure and intensity levels within the render settings to achieve the correct luminance for your scene. It is recommended to use this file for global illumination, providing both the primary light and background reflections.

This environment map is ideal for exterior residential or hospitality projects situated near water or in natural, open landscapes. It pairs well with outdoor furniture, pool house designs, or waterfront villa visualisations where natural, bright daylight is required. Professionals often search for this type of asset when needing a quick, realistic outdoor backdrop that provides consistent, high-quality lighting without the complexity of manual light rigs. It is suitable for both early conceptual renders and final high-fidelity architectural presentations.
