About this asset

This 2K high-dynamic-range environment map provides realistic overcast daytime lighting for 3D architectural visualisations. This HDRI environment map captures an overcast daytime scene set within a public park. The lighting profile is diffuse and soft, characteristic of a cloudy day, which minimises harsh shadows and provides natural, even illumination across a 3D scene. The spherical projection includes a wide view of mature trees lining a gravel or dirt plaza, creating a neutral background that blends well with various architectural styles. The map is designed to serve as both the primary light source and the reflection environment, ensuring that metallic and glass surfaces accurately reflect the surrounding greenery and sky.

The download is a 9.7 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into the environment slot of your rendering engine's world settings. Adjust the rotation to align the sun or brightest point of the sky with your scene's primary light source. Because this is a high-dynamic-range image, it maintains sufficient exposure data to generate realistic soft shadows and ambient occlusion without additional light rigs. Use the intensity slider to fine-tune the global illumination levels to match the desired mood of your final architectural render.

This environment is ideal for outdoor architectural visualisations, particularly for residential projects, public parks, or urban landscape designs where a natural, overcast look is required. It pairs effectively with exterior scenes featuring vegetation, gravel paths, or contemporary building facades that benefit from soft, diffuse light. Professionals searching for natural outdoor lighting, park backgrounds, or reliable global illumination for daylight exterior shots will find this asset versatile for both concept development and final production stages in various rendering software packages.
