About this asset

Clarens Midday is a 2K equirectangular HDRI environment map capturing a bright, partly cloudy hilltop landscape for natural lighting. This HDRI environment map features a panoramic view of a rural hilltop at midday, characterized by a dry, scrubby landscape with native grasses and exposed soil. The sky is dominated by soft, white cumulus clouds set against a bright blue backdrop, providing balanced, diffuse illumination. The scene offers a natural, low-contrast lighting profile, ideal for rendering outdoor spaces or integrating architectural models into a realistic, open-air context. The 360-degree capture includes consistent horizon lines and natural terrain, ensuring seamless reflections and ambient light distribution across your 3D assets and scene geometry.

The download is a 6.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilize this environment map, load the.hdr file into your renderer's environment or world lighting slot. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source for accurate shadows. Since this map provides high-dynamic-range data, it will automatically influence the global illumination, secondary bounces, and reflections on materials within your scene. Use the exposure control settings within your software to fine-tune the intensity of the sky and the resulting softness of the diffuse shadows.

This environment is well-suited for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly for residential projects located in open, rural, or semi-arid settings. It pairs effectively with landscape design renderings, site-specific building studies, and product placement shots that require authentic, natural daylight conditions. Professional visualisers often use such maps to establish a base lighting tone before adding custom light rigs. Search for this asset when you need a versatile, neutral, and realistic sky and terrain background for wide-angle exterior shots or site analysis presentations.
