About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic sunrise lighting for 3D scenes, featuring a soft coastal beach. The environment map captures a serene sunrise at Blouberg Beach, characterised by a low-contrast, cool-toned sky transitioning into soft yellow and pastel pink hues near the horizon. The composition includes a wide expanse of light sand in the foreground, with distant coastal architecture visible along the shoreline. The lighting profile is diffuse and gentle, typical of early morning conditions, which helps to produce subtle, natural-looking shadows and highlights on 3D assets. It is provided as a 2K equirectangular image, designed to maintain accurate light distribution across a full 360-degree spherical projection.

The download is a 5.6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into your renderer's environment or world lighting slot. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source. Because this map contains high dynamic range data, it will naturally drive reflection and global illumination calculations, eliminating the need for complex manual lighting setups. Ensure your project's gamma settings are correctly configured for linear workflow to preserve the accuracy of the light intensity and colour values provided.

This environment is ideal for architectural visualisations requiring a calm, coastal atmosphere. It works well for exterior renderings of residential developments, luxury hotels, or resort projects located near the sea. Professionals can use this map to create authentic morning lighting conditions for wide-angle site shots or detailed product renders that need a natural, soft-light backdrop. It pairs effectively with neutral materials like concrete, glass, and timber, providing a balanced, realistic ambient light that integrates seamlessly into various outdoor architectural contexts.
