About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map features a clear midday sun over a traditional residential courtyard in.hdr format. The environment map captures a bright, high-contrast outdoor scene centred on a white-plastered building facade with traditional architectural features. The foreground consists of reddish-brown brick paving, which leads to a small, raised terrace area. Large, leafy shrubs frame the entrance, casting sharp, defined shadows typical of a clear day. The lighting is dominated by a strong sunstar, providing intense, direct illumination across the scene. The surrounding area includes open ground and distant trees, creating a realistic, natural setting for architectural visualisation projects that require crisp daylight conditions.

The download is a 5.8 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilise this HDRI in a rendering engine, load the.hdr file into the environment or background slot of your software. Adjust the intensity and rotation to align the sun position with your model’s light source for accurate shadow casting. Because the map includes high-dynamic-range data, it will drive global illumination and reflections, allowing for realistic lighting transitions on materials. Scaling is not applicable, but ensure the mapping mode is set to environment or spherical for correct projection.

This asset is suitable for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly for residential projects requiring authentic daylighting. It pairs well with scenes featuring traditional masonry or landscaped gardens. Professionals often search for this type of environment when they need high-contrast, midday lighting conditions to highlight building textures and material finishes. It serves as an effective background for architectural renders in residential, hospitality, or landscape design, providing both the primary light source and a realistic, cohesive backdrop for the project.
