About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic overcast autumn forest lighting for 3D renders and visualisations. Captured in an autumn forest, this environment map features a muted, overcast sky that provides soft, diffuse light ideal for avoiding harsh shadows. The scene focuses on a woodland clearing filled with fallen leaves, earth, and scattered rubble, offering a textured, natural ground plane. A mix of deciduous trees with yellowing foliage and coniferous evergreens creates a dense perimeter. The low-contrast lighting is consistent throughout the 360-degree panorama, ensuring a balanced illumination profile for architectural exterior visualisations or naturalistic set extensions that require a weathered, seasonal atmosphere.

The download is a 6.9 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into the environment slot of your 3D software's render engine. Because it is captured in a high-dynamic range format, it provides both the background plate and the primary light source for your scene. Adjust the exposure or rotation within your render settings to align the diffuse light with your 3D geometry. For optimal results, ensure your project's gamma settings match the input file to maintain the intended colour balance and contrast levels.

This asset is suited for exterior architectural renders, landscape design projects, or cinematic environment creation where a temperate, late-season woodland setting is required. It pairs well with rustic or vernacular building styles and is useful for establishing a moody, natural context. Professionals searching for autumn forest backgrounds, overcast woodland lighting, or realistic site-context HDRIs will find this useful for mid-stage design development and final presentation imagery. The neutral, diffuse lighting makes it highly versatile for integrating various building types into a realistic, naturalistic landscape environment.
