About this asset

This SketchUp model features a realistic Hymenocallis spider lily plant, characterized by its long white petals and deep green foliage. The model represents a Hymenocallis, commonly known as a spider lily, featuring a dense cluster of lanceolate leaves in varying shades of deep and vibrant green. The plant is topped with delicate, spidery white flowers that exhibit the characteristic long, sweeping filaments of the genus. The geometry captures the natural organic irregularity of the leaves, including slight yellowing at the tips for added visual authenticity. This potted specimen provides a high level of detail suitable for close-up architectural visualization, maintaining a balanced silhouette that works well as a standalone feature or in group planting arrangements.

The download is a 28.4 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

To integrate this plant into a SketchUp scene, import the component and use the native scale tool to adjust its size for specific site requirements. Because the model is complex, it is recommended to place it on a dedicated 'Vegetation' layer to manage viewport performance. Use the paint bucket tool to tweak leaf material properties if necessary, or apply an opacity map to the flower petals to optimize render times in external plugins while maintaining the desired visual density.

This spider lily is ideal for interior residential projects, such as sunrooms, lobbies, or high-end living spaces where a touch of nature is required. It also functions well in landscape designs for terraces, balconies, or atrium planters. Professionals seeking to populate a digital garden or brighten an indoor architectural render will find this asset versatile for various project stages, from initial concept massing to final high-fidelity visualization. Pair it with minimalist stone or ceramic pots to complement its organic, spidery floral form.
