Potted Strelitzia Nicolai in Square Concrete Planter

This potted Strelitzia Nicolai SketchUp model features a tall, vibrant indoor plant housed in a clean-lined square concrete planter. This model represents a Strelitzia Nicolai, commonly known as the giant white bird of paradise, characterised by its upright, paddle-shaped leaves in varying shades of deep green. The foliage is densely clustered, rising from a central woody stem base. The plant is set within a minimalist, square-profile planter with a textured, speckled concrete finish. The overall aesthetic is clean and contemporary, suitable for modern interiors. The plant structure maintains a balanced, vertical silhouette, making it an effective choice for filling empty corners or accentuating architectural features in both residential and commercial spaces.

The download is a 5.9 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

To integrate this model into a SketchUp scene, use the component import function to place the plant within your model space. Given its vertical orientation, ensure the base is snapped correctly to the floor plane or the top surface of a pedestal. You may need to adjust the scale to suit the surrounding furniture context. For high-quality visualisations, check the material mapping on the leaves and apply natural light settings to enhance the translucency and depth of the foliage textures.

This plant is ideal for staging residential living rooms, modern office lobbies, and hospitality environments such as hotel lounges or boutique cafes. It pairs effectively with minimalist furniture, concrete flooring, or wood-panelled walls, adding a necessary organic touch to clean, architectural lines. Designers often search for this asset when looking for tall, structural indoor foliage to provide a sense of scale and life in interior renders. It is particularly useful for adding visual interest to neutral, monochromatic palettes without overwhelming the space.
