About this asset

This SketchUp model features a set of two miniature bonsai trees in dark stone planters, showcasing detailed foliage and bark. Presented as a pair, these bonsai trees demonstrate distinct growth patterns typical of traditional pruning techniques. One specimen features a dense, spreading canopy with a thicker trunk base, while the second displays a more dramatic, windswept aesthetic with a slender, curved trunk reaching outwards. Both trees are housed in low-profile, faceted stone planters with a dark, textured finish. The soil surface within the vessels is represented with a granular texture, providing a realistic contrast to the vibrant green foliage and the weathered, grey appearance of the woody stems.

The download is a 54.7 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 2 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

Within SketchUp, these models are structured as components for easy placement and scaling. Users should ensure the axes are correctly oriented upon insertion to align the planters flush with horizontal surfaces. Given the high-detail nature of the foliage, it is recommended to manage these objects on a dedicated layer or tag to maintain viewport performance. Applying custom material overrides to the foliage textures can help integrate the trees into specific lighting environments, such as warm interior scenes or bright, daylight-filled atrium spaces.

These bonsai trees serve as essential decorative accents for high-end residential interiors, minimalist living rooms, and professional office reception areas. They pair effectively with low-slung coffee tables, sideboard units, or zen-inspired meditation spaces. Architects and interior designers will find these assets useful for adding organic textures to interior visualisations, particularly when aiming for a calm, balanced atmosphere. Search for these models when specifying Japanese-style decor, tabletop greenery, or refined interior styling elements that require a sense of permanence and meticulous care.
