About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max kitchen island features a terrazzo base paired with a cantilevered walnut wood surface and metal support. Combining materiality with clean geometry, this kitchen island features a solid, rectangular terrazzo block base with a white aggregate finish. A dark walnut timber extension cantilevers from the main block, providing a secondary surface suitable for dining or preparation. The extension is supported by a slender black metal cylindrical post, creating a distinct contrast in weight and profile. The design balances the heavy, matte texture of the stone with the warm, refined grain of the wood, resulting in a versatile piece that functions as both a workspace and a casual table.

The download is a 7.7 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

To integrate this asset into 3ds Max, merge the file into your scene and ensure the unit scale is set correctly. The materials are structured for standard rendering workflows, allowing for easy adjustment of the walnut grain orientation or terrazzo scale. Use the align tool to position the unit against existing cabinetry or as a standalone feature. Manage the geometry within a dedicated layer to maintain scene organisation, and apply custom lighting to highlight the contrasting textures of the stone and timber.

Ideal for open-plan residential interiors and modern apartment kitchens, this piece serves as a focal point for social cooking and dining spaces. It complements minimalist or contemporary design schemes and pairs well with bar stools or low-profile dining chairs. Professionals searching for a hybrid island-table, a stone and wood kitchen feature, or a compact dining solution for small floor plans will find this model highly adaptable. It is suitable for high-end residential projects, boutique hospitality spaces, and showroom staging where material contrast is prioritised.
