About this asset

This 3ds Max model set features two traditional Asian roof sections with grey ceramic tiles and wooden structural supports. The set includes two distinct modular roof assemblies featuring traditional East Asian architectural details. The upper module displays curved, overlapping grey ceramic tiles, each finished with decorative end-caps featuring subtle relief patterns. The lower module shows a series of cylindrical, interlocking ridge tiles arranged in a parallel pattern over a timber frame. Both sections are rendered with realistic textures, capturing the matte finish of aged ceramic and the warm, grain-rich appearance of the underlying wooden structure. The proportions are balanced to allow for seamless tiling or integration into larger building models.

The download is an 8.2 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model holding 2 separate objects. Open it in 3ds Max; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, these modules are provided as individual objects that can be easily instanced or arrayed to cover larger surfaces. Users should ensure the pivot points are correctly aligned for snapping during placement. The texture maps are applied to standard materials, allowing for adjustments in reflection and bump depth to match specific lighting conditions. These assets are lightweight enough to be used as repeating elements in exterior environments without significantly impacting scene performance.

These roof modules are essential for architectural visualisations of traditional East Asian dwellings, temple complexes, or serene garden pavilions. They pair effectively with timber-framed facades, sliding shoji-style doors, and stone paving elements. Professionals working on cultural heritage projects or hospitality designs, such as luxury resorts or authentic restaurant interiors, will find these assets useful for adding structural depth to rooflines. Use search terms like traditional roofing, Asian architectural details, or historic building elements to locate these assets in your library.
