About this asset

This Scandinavian dining chair for SketchUp features a characteristic wishbone-style frame crafted from light-toned timber and cord. This dining chair showcases a classic mid-century Scandinavian silhouette defined by its curved steam-bent backrest that flows seamlessly into the armrests. The frame is constructed from a pale, natural timber, highlighting a clean and organic aesthetic. The seat is finished with a tightly woven cord pattern, providing a textural contrast to the smooth wooden members. Tapered legs and a Y-shaped back support ensure a lightweight, airy profile that prioritises both ergonomic comfort and visual simplicity. The proportions are balanced, making it a versatile seating solution for various interior styles.

The download is a 2.2 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is organised into a clean component structure for easy scaling and placement within a room layout. Users can apply custom wood grain textures or adjust the colour of the woven seat via the material editor to match specific project finishes. The geometry is lightweight, allowing for efficient rendering performance when populated in larger dining scenes or commercial office breakout areas. Ensure the axis is correctly aligned to the floor plane for accurate snapping during the placement process.

This chair is suited for residential dining rooms, cafes, and boutique hospitality projects where a minimalist or Japandi aesthetic is required. It pairs well with solid timber dining tables, marble-topped sideboards, or as a standalone accent piece in a home office. Professionals often search for this type of seating when specifying furniture for light-filled, airy spaces that require a touch of natural materiality. It is an ideal choice for both modern apartment interiors and more traditional, rustic-inspired kitchen dining configurations.
