Scandinavian Grey Fabric Wooden Armchair with Plaid Throw

This Scandinavian-style armchair is a SketchUp model featuring a natural wood frame, grey fabric upholstery, and a draped plaid throw. This armchair features a clean-lined, minimalist timber frame with exposed joinery that highlights a natural wood grain finish. The seat and backrest are upholstered in a neutral grey fabric, providing a balanced contrast to the warm tone of the wooden structure. A distinct design element is the integrated plaid-patterned throw blanket, which is draped casually over the back and seat, adding texture and a domestic feel to the piece. The overall proportions suggest an ergonomic lounge seating solution, suitable for quiet corners or as a secondary accent piece within a larger living space or bedroom.

The download is a 7.6 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

To use this model in SketchUp, import the component directly into your master file. The geometry is organised into logical groups, allowing for easy selection if you need to adjust the fabric texture or swap the plaid throw for another material. Maintain the original scale to ensure the seat height aligns correctly with standard side tables. When rendering, apply realistic bump maps to the fabric surfaces and ensure the wood texture is mapped to follow the grain direction of the frame components for optimal visual results.

This armchair is ideal for residential interior design projects, particularly those focusing on Scandinavian or contemporary aesthetics. It fits well in living rooms, reading nooks, or hotel guest room suites where a comfortable, lived-in atmosphere is required. Designers often search for this type of asset when looking for 'accent chairs' or 'lounge seating' that includes soft accessories like blankets to add realism to a scene. Pair this with a low timber coffee table or a floor lamp to complete a cohesive, functional interior arrangement.
