About this asset

This SketchUp model of a retro flip desk clock features a cream plastic housing with a distinctive mid-century aesthetic. The clock features a rectangular cream-coloured plastic body with rounded corners, housing a mechanical flip-style display. A clear glass or acrylic window protects the internal flip mechanism, which shows the time in white numerals against a dark background. The side includes a textured metal adjustment knob, while the top surface is fitted with two small metallic control buttons. The design captures the functional, industrial-inspired look of classic timekeeping devices, balancing clean lines with a tactile, retro character. It sits flush on flat surfaces, providing a compact and precise detail for interior compositions.

The download is a 2 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this component is structured for efficient placement on desks, nightstands, or shelving units. Users can easily snap the model to surface planes and scale it if necessary, though it is modelled at a standard desktop size. The materials are applied to distinct faces, allowing for quick adjustments to the plastic housing or metal trim colours within the material editor. It is best used as a high-detail prop to add visual interest to interior scenes without impacting overall file performance.

This asset is ideal for styling home offices, bedrooms, and living spaces where a mid-century or retro design language is required. It pairs well with minimalist work-desks, timber credenzas, or bedside tables. Professionals should search for this piece when looking to add authentic, period-appropriate desk accessories or small-scale decor to their renders. It functions as a versatile detail in residential design projects, retail showroom displays, or boutique hotel room visualizations, providing a touch of character to otherwise static surfaces.
