About this asset

This collection of four rectangular area rugs for SketchUp features subtle fabric textures in a palette of white, grey, and blue tones. This set includes four distinct rectangular area rugs, each rendered with a nuanced, low-pile fabric texture. The collection offers a versatile range of neutral to cool-toned finishes, transitioning from a clean, bright white to soft grey, charcoal-grey, and a muted, deep blue. The proportions are designed for standard floor coverage, maintaining a slim profile that sits flush against floor geometry. Each piece is modeled as a simple, clean-edged plane, making them highly efficient for quick placement in floor plans or interior visualizations without adding unnecessary complexity to the model geometry.

The download is a 13.3 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 4 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, these rugs are best utilized as components or groups placed directly onto finished floor surfaces. Users can scale the individual models to fit specific room dimensions or furniture groupings. To enhance realism, apply a slight Z-axis offset (1-2mm) from the floor plane to prevent texture flickering. The materials can be easily swapped or adjusted within the material editor to match specific project color schemes or to increase the perceived thread density of the fabric textures.

These area rugs are essential for grounding furniture layouts in residential, hospitality, and commercial office projects. They work effectively under coffee tables, beneath dining sets, or to define seating zones in open-plan living areas. Professionals often search for these as floor finishes or soft decor accents to add warmth to minimalist interior renders. They pair well with various flooring types, such as hardwood, polished concrete, or large-format tiles, helping to create a cohesive and lived-in aesthetic in any architectural visualization.
