About this asset

This 3ds Max model of a Strelitzia Nicolai features broad, deep green leaves housed within a textured, natural wicker-style planter. This decorative indoor plant asset captures the distinct architectural silhouette of a Strelitzia Nicolai, commonly known as a giant white bird of paradise. The foliage consists of several upright, lance-shaped leaves with deep green colouration and subtle veining detail, radiating from a central stem base. The plant is potted in a tapered, woven wicker-style planter that introduces natural texture and a warm, organic tone to the ensemble. The overall proportions are balanced for use as a floor-standing accent piece in contemporary interior schemes requiring a touch of botanical greenery.

The download is a 25.4 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this asset into a 3ds Max project, import the model into your scene using the merge command to maintain its original material settings. The plant is scaled as a standalone object, making it suitable for placement in corners or adjacent to lounge furniture. Ensure the pivot point is adjusted to the base of the planter for easy positioning on floor surfaces. For optimal results, apply a subtle bump map to the leaves to enhance the realism of the foliage texture under various lighting conditions.

This potted plant is ideal for staging residential living rooms, modern office lobbies, or boutique hotel reception areas. Its neutral, organic aesthetic pairs well with minimalist or bohemian interior styles, effectively softening stark architectural lines. Designers often use such assets to add life to static 3D visualisations, placing them near windows, beside sofas, or in transitional spaces like hallways.
