About this asset

This Oriental-style armchair and side table set for 3ds Max features a dark wood frame with a central circular motif and grey upholstery. This set features a high-backed armchair crafted from dark-stained timber, exhibiting traditional Oriental joinery and a distinctive circular cutout in the backrest. The seat is fitted with a neutral grey fabric cushion, complemented by a vibrant yellow patterned throw pillow. Accompanying the chair is a small, sculptural side table with a fluted, hourglass-shaped base finished in a dark, metallic tone, encircled by a brass-coloured band. A minimalist white ceramic vase containing delicate floral stems sits atop the table, completing this cohesive decorative arrangement for interior compositions.

The download is a 10 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model holding 2 separate objects, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this set into a 3ds Max scene, use the native pivot points to position the chair and table relative to your floor plane. The geometry is organised into logical layers, allowing for easy selection of the chair, cushion, and table as individual components. Apply custom shaders to the wood and fabric materials to suit your specific lighting environment. Ensure the normals are correctly aligned during merging to maintain consistent shading across the fluted base of the table.

This furniture pairing is well-suited for high-end residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, or quiet reading corners in a home office. The Oriental aesthetic provides a sophisticated focal point in projects requiring a balance of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary comfort. Designers often specify such sets when creating serene, culturally-inspired interiors.
