About this asset

This ornate Oriental altar cabinet is a detailed SketchUp model featuring intricate wood carvings and contrasting gold-toned decorative accents. Constructed from dark-toned timber, this traditional altar cabinet features elaborate relief carvings across its frame and base. The structure includes a recessed central alcove flanked by two vertical pillars, with decorative brackets supporting the upper canopy. Gold-coloured calligraphic elements are integrated into the front-facing panels, adding a distinct focal point to the piece. The base is elevated on four sturdy, shaped feet, with additional ornate fretwork detailing along the lower front apron. Its proportions are designed to serve as a compact yet prominent focal point within a room.

The download is a 3.8 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

When integrating this SketchUp model into a project, place the component directly into the scene using the native move tool to align it against a wall or within a dedicated alcove. Ensure the model is placed on its own dedicated layer to manage visibility during the design process. If rendering, apply high-resolution wood grain textures to the cabinet surfaces and adjust the metallic material properties on the gold decorative elements to achieve a realistic finish under your chosen lighting setup.

This piece is suitable for residential interiors, particularly in formal living areas, entryways, or designated meditation spaces. It functions well in hospitality projects, such as boutique hotels or cultural centres, where a traditional aesthetic is required. Architects and interior designers often specify such cabinets for projects requiring specific cultural or heritage elements. It pairs effectively with minimalist contemporary furniture to create a balanced, eclectic interior scheme, or within a fully themed traditional room setting alongside complementary wooden furniture and low-level accent lighting.
