About this asset

This collection of six contemporary fabric rugs for SketchUp features diverse geometric and abstract patterns in various shapes. This set includes six distinct area rugs, offering a mix of rectangular and circular profiles. The designs range from a vibrant rainbow-arched motif and a playful polka-dot pattern to a classic distressed damask print, a subtle herringbone weave, and a minimalist chevron stripe. One circular rug is presented in a solid neutral tone. Each piece is rendered with a flat profile, ideal for floor-level placement. These rugs provide a versatile range of textures and visual interest, suitable for layering in various interior design schemes, from modern living spaces to casual bedrooms.

The download is a 1.9 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 6 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, these rugs are best utilised as components or groups placed directly onto the floor plane. Users can easily scale the individual rug elements to fit specific room dimensions. The materials are applied as simple texture maps, allowing for quick adjustments to tiling or colour saturation within the native material editor. Given their low-profile nature, they are efficient for populating scenes without significantly increasing polygon counts, making them suitable for both quick conceptual visualisations and more detailed final renders.

These rugs are essential for adding warmth and texture to residential projects, particularly in living rooms, nurseries, and bedrooms. They work well beneath coffee tables, in reading nooks, or as accents in hotel suites and boutique retail displays. Interior designers often use these to define zones within open-plan layouts or to introduce colour into neutral palettes. Search for these by browsing for area rug collections, floor textiles, or decorative floor coverings to enhance the realism of architectural interior scenes.
