About this asset

This collection of sixteen modern rectangular area rugs in SketchUp features varied geometric and abstract patterns in neutral tones. This set contains sixteen distinct rectangular floor coverings, each presented in a top-down plan view. The designs range from minimalist solid textures to intricate geometric motifs, including lattice, diamond, and interlacing patterns. The colour palette is strictly neutral, dominated by shades of grey, charcoal, white, and muted brown, making them versatile for various interior schemes. Each piece is modeled as a flat, low-profile fabric element, suitable for layering under furniture. The variety of patterns provides options for both subtle accents and bold focal points in interior design compositions.

The download is a 26.4 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 16 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, these rugs are best utilised as flat components placed directly onto floor planes. Users can easily scale these models to fit specific room dimensions or swap textures between different rug shapes. For rendering purposes, applying a subtle displacement map or bump texture will add realism to the fabric surface without increasing the geometric complexity of the scene.

These area rugs are essential for grounding furniture groupings in residential living rooms, bedrooms, and home office setups. They also function well in hospitality projects, such as hotel guest rooms or boutique lobbies, where a cohesive, neutral aesthetic is required. Professionals often search for these assets when styling floor plans or rendering interior views to add warmth and texture to hard floor finishes. They pair effectively with contemporary seating, wooden dining sets, and minimalist bedroom furniture to create balanced, inviting spaces.
