About this asset

This modern lounge chair set for 3ds Max features a tubular chrome frame with brown leather straps for a classic industrial aesthetic. This pair of lounge chairs exhibits a distinct modern profile defined by a continuous tubular steel frame finished in polished chrome. The seat, backrest, and armrests are constructed from wide leather straps in a rich brown tone, providing both structural support and physical comfort. The design relies on the contrast between the reflective, cold metallic frame and the warm, matte texture of the leather. The geometry is clean and linear, focusing on the intersection of the metal tubing and the leather tensioning system, making it a recognisable piece of twentieth-century furniture design.

The download is a 28.6 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model holding 2 separate objects, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

To integrate these lounge chairs into a 3ds Max scene, use the native object grouping to manage the frame and leather components separately. Ensure the chrome material is assigned to the metal geometry using a high-gloss reflection map, while the leather straps should utilise a subtle bump map to convey the material grain. Adjust the pivot points at the base of the chairs to facilitate easier placement on floor planes, and apply global illumination settings to properly capture the highlights on the curved metal surfaces.

These chairs are well-suited for high-end residential living rooms, executive office lounges, or boutique hotel lobbies where a sophisticated mid-century aesthetic is desired. They pair effectively with low-profile coffee tables or minimalist floor lamps to create a balanced seating arrangement. Professionals searching for iconic lounge seating, tubular steel furniture, or leather-clad armchairs will find this model useful for architectural visualisations that require a refined, period-accurate aesthetic. Their compact footprint also makes them suitable for smaller reading nooks or gallery spaces within public buildings.
