About this asset

This minimalist black tall bookshelf set for 3ds Max features two open-frame shelving units filled with various book arrangements. Comprising two identical tall, slim open-frame units, this bookshelf set features a clean, minimalist aesthetic finished in a solid matte black. Each unit is constructed with a series of fixed horizontal shelves, providing a structured yet versatile storage solution. The design is utilitarian, focusing on verticality and clear lines, making it an unobtrusive addition to contemporary interiors. Included in the set is a diverse collection of books, varying in thickness, height, and colour, which are pre-arranged across the shelves in both vertical and horizontal stacks to create a realistic, lived-in appearance for architectural visualisations.

The download is an 11.9 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model holding 2 separate objects, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

To integrate these units into a 3ds Max scene, use the merge command to import the objects into your active project file. Ensure the pivot points are correctly aligned at the base for easy placement against wall surfaces. The books are grouped with the shelf frames, but can be detached or adjusted for custom styling. Apply standard material overrides if necessary to match specific lighting conditions or to adjust the gloss levels of the black finish for your final render output.

These bookshelves are ideal for populating residential living rooms, home offices, or study areas where a clean, modern look is required. They pair well with contemporary desks, lounge chairs, and floor lamps to complete a reading nook or workspace. Professionals will find this asset useful for staging interior scenes in high-end apartments or corporate library environments. Search for these units when specifying storage furniture that requires a neutral, dark-toned aesthetic to ground a space while providing ample display room for literature and accessories.
