Light Wood Reading Nook with Integrated Shelving Set

This minimalist reading nook SketchUp set features two tall light wood bookcases flanking a cushioned bench with integrated storage. This architectural storage and seating arrangement consists of two full-height, open-faced bookcases finished in a light natural wood veneer. Between the units sits a low-profile bench, matching the timber finish of the shelves, topped with a deep upholstered seat cushion. The composition is completed by a selection of scatter cushions in neutral tones, providing a comfortable seating area suitable for an alcove or study. The clean, linear geometry of the shelving units ensures a balanced, symmetrical aesthetic that integrates seamlessly into contemporary interiors, while the modular design allows for flexible placement within larger residential floor plans.

The download is a 10.6 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

To integrate this SketchUp model into your project, import the component into your master file and position it against a wall or within an alcove. The geometry is organised into logical groups, allowing for easy adjustment of the bench width or shelf height to suit specific site dimensions. Apply your preferred wood grain textures to the cabinet faces and adjust the cushion material settings to match your interior palette, ensuring proper mapping for high-quality visualisation renders.

This reading nook is ideal for residential projects requiring bespoke joinery, particularly in home offices, libraries, or living rooms.
