Industrial Black Metal and Oak Shelving Unit

This industrial-style floor-standing shelving unit for SketchUp features a black metal frame, oak cabinet base, and open shelves. This floor-standing shelving unit combines a slender black metal frame with a warm oak-finished cabinet base. The design offers five open shelves for display, with a decorative metal lattice panel integrated into the central section to provide visual depth. The base cabinet, featuring vertical grain wood doors, provides concealed storage beneath the open display area. The unit is accessorized with various potted indoor plants and books, demonstrating its utility as a functional display piece. The overall construction highlights a clean, linear aesthetic, balancing the raw industrial metal with the natural texture of wood.

The download is a 72.8 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this component is managed as a single group, allowing for easy placement against walls or as a room divider. The materials are applied as standard textures, which can be easily swapped or scaled to match project-specific finishes. Users should ensure the model is placed on a dedicated layer for easy toggling during the design process. Since the unit includes various decor items, these can be deleted or hidden if a cleaner, empty shelf is required for specific interior visualizations.

Ideal for residential living areas, home offices, or boutique retail showrooms, this shelving unit serves as a versatile storage and display solution. It pairs well with other industrial-inspired furniture, such as metal-framed desks or leather seating. Architects and interior designers might search for this when specifying open storage for modern apartments or loft-style workspaces. Its slim profile makes it particularly effective in smaller rooms where vertical space needs to be maximized without overwhelming the floor plan, providing both open display and hidden storage.
