Grey Fabric Contemporary Armchair with Cut-Out Backrest

This contemporary SketchUp armchair features a textured grey fabric upholstery and a distinctive rectangular cut-out backrest. Defined by a structured, angular profile, this armchair balances soft upholstery with clean geometric lines. The backrest is notable for its central rectangular aperture, framed in a metallic-finish trim that contrasts against the fabric. A deep, comfortable seat cushion transitions into integrated armrests that curve gently outward. The piece is supported by four tapered, dark-stained wooden legs, providing a stable foundation and a warm visual anchor. The overall aesthetic is one of refined modernism, suitable for spaces requiring a distinct accent piece that maintains a cohesive, professional appearance in interior visualisations.

The download is a 13.6 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

To integrate this asset into a SketchUp scene, place the component into the model and use the scale tool to verify dimensions against existing furniture. The model is organised into logical groups, allowing for easy material replacement or texture scaling on the fabric surfaces. Adjust the material properties within the native editor to control reflection or bump mapping for the fabric texture. Ensure the chair is placed on the correct layer to manage scene complexity and maintain efficient viewport performance.

This armchair serves as an ideal accent piece for high-end residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, or executive waiting areas. It pairs well with minimalist coffee tables or as a standalone feature in a reading nook. Designers frequently search for this type of modern seating when styling contemporary interiors that require a blend of comfort and sculptural interest. It works effectively in both front-facing and angled arrangements, providing a versatile solution for architectural rendering projects requiring high-quality, mid-scale furniture assets.
