About this asset

This contemporary armchair for 3ds Max features a dark stained wood frame and white textured fabric cushions for a relaxed lounge aesthetic. The armchair is defined by its exposed solid wood frame, finished in a deep brown stain that highlights the natural grain. Its structural geometry includes angled supports that cradle the seat and backrest. The upholstery consists of two distinct components: a thick, plush seat cushion and a slightly inclined back cushion, both finished in a white fabric with a subtle, tactile weave. The proportions are low and wide, prioritising comfort and a casual, inviting silhouette. The design balances the warmth of the timber with the clean, neutral palette of the textile elements.

The download is a 6.7 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this model into 3ds Max, ensure the object pivot is set to the base for easy placement on floor surfaces. The geometry is clean, allowing for straightforward material assignments if custom textures are required for specific project palettes. Use the native unit scale to verify dimensions against your floor plan before final placement. Adjust the light intensity in your scene to properly capture the depth and texture of the fabric weave, which can be enhanced using a standard bump or displacement map.

This piece is well-suited for residential living rooms, reading nooks, or hotel lounge areas where a relaxed, modern aesthetic is desired. It pairs effectively with side tables and floor lamps to create a quiet corner or a conversation group in a larger open-plan layout. Designers looking for an accent chair that bridges the gap between rustic and contemporary styles will find this model useful for interior visualisations, particularly in projects focusing on natural materials and a calm, neutral colour scheme for high-end residential interiors.
