About this asset

This contemporary 3-seater sofa, modelled for 3ds Max, features distinctive ribbed fabric upholstery and a slim-profile metal frame. This 3-seater sofa showcases a highly rhythmic, vertical-ribbed upholstery pattern across both the backrest and the seat cushion, finished in a deep teal fabric. The structural integrity is provided by a minimalist grey metal frame, which includes slender, tapered legs and understated armrests that terminate in small circular plates. The overall aesthetic relies on the repeating vertical lines of the cushioning to create a sense of texture and depth, contrasting with the smooth, industrial precision of the metallic base. Its proportions are elongated, offering a clean, linear silhouette suitable for modern interior compositions.

The download is a 14.8 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When working in 3ds Max, this model is best utilised by merging the asset into your scene file and assigning the appropriate material library. Ensure the pivot point is set to the base of the legs for easy placement on floor planes. Users should check the scale against standard ergonomic heights to ensure it fits the intended spatial context. Applying a subtle bump map to the fabric texture will help accentuate the ribbed detailing during rendering for a more realistic finish.

This sofa is ideal for sophisticated residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, or high-end office reception areas. Its unique ribbed texture makes it a strong focal point, pairing well with minimalist coffee tables or neutral-toned area rugs to balance its visual intensity. Architects and interior designers might search for this piece when specifying seating that avoids traditional plush aesthetics in favour of structured, architectural forms. It is particularly effective in projects requiring a blend of comfort and contemporary design language.
