About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max lounge chair features a distinct curved silhouette with plush grey velvet upholstery and a beige base. The lounge chair showcases a bold, rounded aesthetic defined by its deep, wrap-around backrest and generous seat cushion. The primary seating area is finished in a textured, dark grey velvet, providing a soft contrast to the structured, light beige fabric that envelopes the chair's robust, cylindrical legs and outer shell. Its proportions are wide and low-slung, creating a comfortable, cocoon-like seating experience. The design avoids sharp edges, favouring organic curves that lend a sculptural quality to the piece, making it a focal point in any modern interior arrangement.

The download is a 20.4 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this model is organised with clear layer hierarchies for the upholstery and base components, allowing for easy material assignment or modification. The velvet surface uses a high-detail map to capture the material's natural light-absorbing properties. Users should ensure the model is scaled correctly to their scene units before placement. For lighting, the chair responds well to soft, diffuse environments, which help highlight the intricate pile of the velvet and the clean, matte texture of the base fabric.

This lounge chair is ideal for high-end residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, or quiet reading corners in a home office. Its plush, inviting form pairs well with minimalist coffee tables and soft, neutral area rugs. Designers frequently search for this type of statement seating when looking to add tactile comfort and organic shapes to contemporary or transitional spaces. It serves as an excellent piece for creating defined relaxation zones within larger open-plan layouts or as a singular accent in a bedroom suite.
