About this asset

This contemporary armless lounge chair, modelled in 3ds Max, features a plush, tufted grey velvet upholstery with a low-profile silhouette. Defined by its distinct low-profile and modular-inspired aesthetic, this armless lounge chair is fully upholstered in a soft, grey velvet fabric. The design features horizontal channel tufting across the seat and backrest, creating a comfortable, gathered texture that emphasises its relaxed form. With no rigid frame visible, the piece relies on its dense, contoured shape to provide support. The overall dimensions suggest a compact footprint suitable for casual seating areas, while the uniform grey tone and soft textile finish offer a versatile aesthetic for various interior styles, from modern to eclectic living spaces.

The download is an 11 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When integrating this 3ds Max model into a project, ensure the object is placed on the floor plane using the correct pivot point to avoid clipping. The velvet material uses a map-based approach to capture the light-reactive nature of the fabric; adjust the specular and glossiness parameters if the scene lighting is high-contrast. The model is presented as a single entity, allowing for easy placement within larger arrangements or as a standalone accent piece in a lounge or bedroom scene.

This lounge chair is ideal for residential living rooms, reading nooks, or hotel lobby lounge areas where a relaxed, informal seating option is required. It pairs well with low-level coffee tables and minimalist rugs to maintain a contemporary, airy feel. Interior designers often search for this type of armless, tufted seating when looking to add tactile comfort to a room without overwhelming the space with bulky, traditional furniture. It serves as a focal point in mid-century or modern-themed interior design projects.
