Contemporary Grey Marble and Timber Reception Desk, Straight

This contemporary SketchUp reception desk features a striking combination of grey marble and layered timber, designed for professional lobbies. This reception desk is defined by its bold, dual-material composition. The front facade is split diagonally, showcasing a smooth, veined grey marble upper section contrasted against a base of stacked, horizontal timber slats. The form is clean and rectangular, providing a substantial presence suitable for a high-traffic entry point. The design incorporates a subtle recessed area for branding, allowing for seamless integration of corporate identities. Internally, the desk provides a functional workspace platform. The material palette balances natural textures with refined stone, creating a sophisticated aesthetic that bridges the gap between modern minimalism and inviting, warm materiality.

The download is an 8 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

To integrate this desk into a SketchUp scene, place the component directly into your lobby or reception model. The geometry is organised into logical groups, allowing for easy material overrides or texture scaling if necessary. Use the native layering system to isolate the desk from the interior architecture, ensuring efficient viewport navigation. When rendering, apply high-resolution textures to the marble and wood surfaces to capture the contrast between the polished stone and the layered timber grain, adjusting the reflection maps to suit your specific lighting setup.
