Contemporary Grey Fabric Upholstered Double Bed with Suspended Cushions

This contemporary double bed is a SketchUp model featuring a platform base and a unique headboard design with suspended fabric cushions. This double bed features a low-profile platform frame constructed from natural wood, providing a clean, minimalist foundation. The defining design element is the headboard, which consists of two grey fabric cushions suspended from a thin, horizontal metal rod. The bed is dressed with a white duvet and a grey textured throw blanket, creating a layered, comfortable aesthetic. The proportions are balanced, suitable for modern interior schemes where a relaxed, informal look is desired. The soft, upholstered elements contrast effectively against the rigid lines of the timber base and the slender metal support system.

The download is a 29.1 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

When using this SketchUp asset, ensure the model is placed on the floor plane using the base of the timber frame. The components are grouped logically, allowing for easy adjustment of the bedding or headboard height if necessary. Use the native material editor to modify fabric textures or timber finishes to match specific project requirements. For high-quality visualisations, apply appropriate displacement maps to the bedding to enhance the cloth folds and add subtle ambient occlusion to the junction between the frame and the floor.

This piece is ideal for contemporary master bedrooms, guest rooms, or boutique hotel suites where a relaxed, modern aesthetic is required. It pairs well with minimalist bedside tables and simple wall-mounted lighting. Designers often search for this type of asset when specifying platform beds, upholstered headboards, or casual bedroom furniture. It is versatile enough for both residential and hospitality projects, working effectively in spaces that prioritise comfort and clean, uncluttered lines. The neutral colour palette ensures it integrates seamlessly into diverse interior design concepts.
