About this asset

This set of two contemporary potted cacti in concrete planters is a high-quality SketchUp model featuring realistic textures. This pair of indoor plants features one tall, multi-stemmed columnar cactus and one sprawling opuntia-style succulent. Both specimens are housed in modern, minimalist concrete planters. The first planter is a low-profile hexagonal vessel, while the second is a rounded, shallow basin. Each container is topped with a layer of white decorative gravel, providing a clean contrast to the textured green foliage of the plants. The model captures the subtle variations in surface detail and spine density typical of these desert species, offering a balanced aesthetic for interior architectural compositions.

The download is a 125 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 2 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

When working in SketchUp, import this component as a single group or explode it to manage individual plant and planter elements. Use the native scale tool to adjust dimensions to fit your specific floor plan requirements. Since the textures are pre-applied, ensure your material paths are correctly linked to preserve the visual fidelity. For rendering, consider applying additional displacement maps to the cactus surfaces to enhance the depth of the spines when viewed at close range in your final scene.

These potted plants are ideal for adding organic texture to minimalist or contemporary interior spaces. They perform well in residential living rooms, hotel lobbies, or modern office reception areas where a touch of greenery is required without high maintenance. Professionals often use such assets to soften hard architectural lines or to act as focal points in transition zones. They pair effectively with concrete or natural wood flooring and complement a wide range of neutral, earth-toned interior design palettes in high-end design projects.
