Contemporary Grey Fabric Armchair with Throw and Cushion

This contemporary grey fabric armchair is a detailed SketchUp model featuring a channel-tufted backrest, a matching cushion, and a draped textile throw. This contemporary armchair features a compact, rounded silhouette with a distinct channel-tufted backrest that provides structural rhythm to the upholstery. The seat is deep and cushioned, supported by slender, tapered dark-finished legs that contrast with the light grey fabric. The piece includes a soft, square scatter cushion in a coordinating grey grid pattern and a draped, textured houndstooth-style throw blanket over one armrest. The overall aesthetic is clean and tailored, suitable for modern interior compositions where comfort and subtle visual interest are required in a singular, well-proportioned seating element.

The download is a 15.2 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this component is structured for easy placement into interior scenes. Users should place the object using the base of the legs as the primary snap point. The textures are mapped for realistic rendering, and the geometry is grouped to allow for quick material adjustments or layer management. It is recommended to keep the cushion and throw as separate sub-groups within the main model to facilitate independent scaling or re-positioning if the chair is placed in tight corners or against walls.

Ideal for residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, or quiet reading corners in home offices, this armchair serves as an effective accent piece. It pairs well with minimalist side tables, floor lamps, or neutral-toned area rugs. Professionals searching for comfortable, compact seating solutions for staging or visualization projects will find this asset versatile for various contemporary design schemes. It is particularly useful for adding a sense of lived-in warmth to architectural renders without overcrowding the floor plan.
